TNT Sports Chile Steps Into The Future With PlayBox Neo

TNT Sports, part of Warner Bros. Discovery, transforms and reinvigorates operations with PlayBox Neo’s Channel-in-a-Box technology.

The broadcaster has invested in PlayBox Neo’s Channel-in-a-Box to upgrade and enhance its current HD sports channel expansion, in partnership with technology reseller Duo Chile who also conducted the training.

TNT Sports is one of the leading HD channel sports broadcasters in Latin America and part of the featured brand associated with Warner Bros. Discovery’s premium sports content. Through multiple screens and platforms, TNT Sports broadcasts AFA games (Professional Football League & Cup, Champions Trophy), FPF (Paulistão, Female Paulistão, Paulistão A2 and Sub-20) and ANFP games (First and Second Division, Chile Cup), in addition to the most relevant football championships from Europe (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Supercup, among others).

The company has always leveraged technology to improve efficiency. They chose media production and playout solutions from PlayBox Neo to replace their old third-party playout system for commercial insertion during the Football games. TNT Sports needed a solution that would automate customised playout of content while streamlining its operations and optimising costs.

This Channel-in-a-Box (CIAB) concept is a playout and channel branding system. Supporting single channel or multichannel HD or UHD operation, it provides all the facilities required to maintain a channel on-air, performed in a single standalone server. It incorporates all the tools a broadcaster requires for ingest, scheduling, text manipulation, interactive graphics, playout and content distribution. Remotely accessible tools to enhance preparation, quality control and content monitoring are also included.

“Channel-in-a-Box” is the generic name given to the all-in-one playout device for broadcast television and includes the ability to store content immediately as required, add graphics, and deliver to a transmission chain. The PlayBox Neo CIAB is a true turnkey solution supporting any desired level of automation right up to 24/7 hands-off playout. The systems integrated into TNT Sports will stand them in good stead for years to come populated with ListBox Neo-20 scheduling, TitleBox Neo-20 CG & interactive graphics, Capture Suite content ingest plus Media Gateway live delivery and distribution. PlayBox Neo CIAB installations are highly space efficient and easy to handle technically if or when one needs replacement or relocation.
