Prodys Launch Major New Feature For Their Remote Commentary Solutions At IBC 2024

Prodys, the audio encoder and video encoder manufacturer for major broadcasters and production companies, is presenting a revolutionary new feature in its Quantum2 equipment at this year’s IBC2024 show. This is the Ethernet Tunnel, which allows you to link two remote local networks, connected to two Quantum2 units, using all existing network interfaces (bonding) between the two devices.
This creates a single virtual network that would allow, for example, an operator to control from the studio, via IP commands, devices connected to a Quantum2 W commentary unit, such as a PTZ camera, even those based on multicast or broadcast commands. This method of remote production greatly simplifies the work of commentators in the field by freeing them from the worry of operating the camera, as the camera and other IP-controllable devices become directly accessible from the MCR's premises.
This Ethernet tunnel (OSI Layer 2) employs state-of-the-art encryption techniques to ensure that your data travels securely and confidentially across the networks. The Ethernet Tunnel functionality can be activated in the Quantum2 and Ikusnet3 encoders, including portable and stationary units.
