ARK Multicasting Selects Triveni Digital’s ATSC 3.0 Solutions To Power NextGen TV Rollout

Triveni Digital’s ATSC 3.0 solutions allow ARK Multicasting to deliver innovative datacasting services with optimized bandwidth utilization.
Triveni Digital’s full range of ATSC 3.0 products will power the initial 10-station deployment of broadcast internet stations built by ARK Multicasting, a leading-edge broadcaster. Triveni Digital’s ATSC 3.0 solutions, including the SkyScraper XM ATSC 3.0 datacasting system, StreamScope quality assurance platform, and Triveni Digital’s NextGen air chain, will enable ARK Multicasting’s low-power TV (LPTV) stations to offer advanced datacasting services, supporting categories such as remote learning, connected car and autonomous vehicles, cloud services and consumer edge datacenters, streaming OTT providers, internet service providers, the gaming industry, and more.
“ATSC 3.0 technologies are helping us bridge the connectivity gap in the United States to expand the scope of traditional television broadcast systems and to encompass an over-the-air content distribution network,” said Joshua Weiss, CEO and co-founder of ARK Multicasting. “Triveni Digital’s expertise in ATSC 3.0 technology has proven to be the path for ARK’s initial deployment, and they have partnered with the widest range of ecosystem providers. This gives us confidence that we can build an innovative network to rapidly and reliably launch revenue-enhancing datacasting services and assure exceptional service quality.”
ARK Multicasting is deploying an open, standards-based solution from Triveni Digital that will include the SkyScraper XM ATSC 3.0 Datacasting System, along with ATSC 3.0 Broadcast Gateway scheduler, GuideBuilder XM ATSC 3.0 Transport Encoder, and StreamScope XM Analyzer. The Triveni Digital solution will run in a virtualized environment to ensure high scalability for ATSC 3.0 service delivery.
As a proven platform for content distribution via any digital broadcast medium, SkyScraper XM will allow ARK Multicasting to efficiently deliver rich digital media content to a large number of receivers. SkyScraper assures reliable delivery with forward error correction and receiver acknowledgments.
“Datacasting is much more efficient with the ATSC 3.0 system and offers multiple revenue opportunities for low-power TV stations,” said Ralph Bachofen, vice president of sales and marketing at Triveni Digital. “We are excited to help ARK Multicasting explore the treasure trove of datacasting applications available in the ATSC 3.0 environment with our field-proven SkyScraper XM datacasting system. Triveni Digital has decades of experience in both traditional broadcast and datacasting; we know the environment, and that knowledge enables our customers to make a flawless transition to NextGen TV.”
