MwareTV Launches OTT Service For African ISPs And Telcos
MwareTV, a provider of cloud-based multi-tenant technology headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands, has unveiled an end-to-end TV package aimed at telcos and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Africa.
Designed for affordable deployment inside four weeks where possible, the service comes with around 100 channels of affordable African content and supports customization to individual operator branding, logo and identity.
MwareTV has taken account of recent developments in the African telco sector, in particular the demand for rapid scaling in line with subscriber growth and data traffic proliferation, as well as for protection against churn to rival video service providers. The platform has been designed particularly to address the needs of medium and large operators, based around a ‘pay as you develop' concept avoiding high up-front costs. This allows subscription fees to be kept reasonably low, giving new services the greatest opportunity to gain traction quickly. MwareTV said it can work closely with any operator to create a profitable business case and then bring the service to air.
As well as being offered as an OTT platform to mobile and fixed network customers, the underlying platform is also being pitched to telcos for linear IPTV services, with options to develop dedicated bouquets from a variety of TV genres, including news, sport, entertainment, movies and faith.

Underlining the appeal of the service, we are already in advanced talks with several major telcos and ISPs about deployments and expect to reveal details of the first few customers in the coming months.”
