EditShare And Codemill Supports AWS Media & Entertainment Initiative

Running on AWS, EditShare’s EFSv media optimized platform is designed to allow teams the opportunity to migrate their production environments to AWS using all their familiar production tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Codemill’s Accurate.Video includes API integration with a number of AWS Media Services for quality management of video content.

AWS for Media & Entertainment is an initiative featuring services and solutions from AWS and AWS Partners. This includes Amazon Nimble Studio, a service that enables customers to set up creative studios in hours instead of weeks, to a portfolio of more purpose-built media and entertainment industry services than any other cloud, including AWS Elemental MediaPackage, and Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS).

The initiative is also intended to simplify the process of building, deploying, and reinventing industry workloads by aligning AWS and AWS Partner capabilities against five solution areas: Content Production; Media Supply Chain & Archive; Broadcast; Direct-to-Consumer & Streaming; and Data Science & Analytics.

EditShare’s FLOW media management technology, EFSv facilitates end-to-end editorial and archive workflows in the cloud. APIs enable users to create advanced automated storage workflows or integrate additional systems to create entirely new workflows.

"Content producers across a range of industries are increasingly engaged with us about remote workflows and production flexibility. These conversations are driven by the demands for agile work environments that allow editors to work from anywhere. The pandemic has only accelerated these discussions,” states Tom Rosenstein, VP Business Development, EditShare. “Working with AWS extends the benefits of our EFS media optimized file system from its on-premises origins to now run in the cloud, bringing the same high performance with added operational efficiency. Customers only pay for what they need without having to pre-plan purchases or have systems sit idle.”

Codemill’s Accurate.Video is a web-based video platform for remote broadcast, post-production and media professionals. With Accurate.Video Validate, content operations teams can frame accurately QC video, with discrete audio tracks and multiple subtitles. It can also verify time-based metadata, all using a standard web browser, with keyboard shortcuts. It includes advanced metadata visualization.

Validate runs on Amazon ECS, a fully managed container orchestration service. API integration with Amazon Rekognition makes it easy to add image and video analysis to applications. Thanks to this, users can automate some of the otherwise labour-intensive processes associated with quality control of video content. This includes automatically identifying objects or scenes that need to be removed or detecting suitable places for a shot change or ad break marker.

Rickard Lönneborg, CEO, Codemill, commented: “Media workflows need to be flexible enough to adapt for constant evolution. By integrating with AWS Media Services, our customers harness the power of data science to adapt and grow their video services while maximizing efficiencies, without sacrificing on quality.”
