Accedo Launches Sports Video Package
Sweden’s Accedo has launched an out-of-the-box package for sports video services.
Called Accedo Play – Sports, this allows sport organizations to launch, manage and monetize a service through a video-centric hub that can improve the fan experience, according to the company.
With Accedo Play – Sports, rights holders, federations, and clubs can deliver a hub for their brand to augment and enhance any existing social media strategies. As well as creating a digital space for fans to engage, Accedo Play – Sports opens up the opportunity to increase revenue from existing core streams, such as ticketing, merchandising, sponsorship, as well as video directly.
“Many sports organizations are already producing video content to distribute through YouTube, and other social channels,” noted Michael Lantz, CEO Accedo. “We believe that revenue potential and fan engagement will be significantly improved by a branded experience powered by Accedo Play – Sports.”
Accedo Play – Sports supports a range of editorial content forms, from highlight reels to full live matches, across multiple device platforms including distribution to social channels. Rights holders, federations, and clubs can benefit from a data-driven approach that delivers key insights into fan behavior and content preferences, the company claimed.
As services mature, the Accedo Play – Sports will enable additional advanced features to support the growth. This includes ‘next generation’ content formats such as Augmented Reality, game statistics and sponsor activations which can bring a new level of interaction to content.
