Since its founding, Sound Devices has been well-known for exceptional audio expertise, providing production professionals with advanced multichannel portable audio mixers and digital audio recorders. The company recently expanded its product line with the addition of the Video Devices PIX line of video recorders. This new family of products includes the camera-mounted PIX 240i, and the newly introduced rack-mounted PIX 270i and PIX 250i. With this progression into video gear, high-quality audio remains an important element, as Sound Devices stays true to its heritage by incorporating expert-grade audio into all of its video products.

Along with new video products, Sound Devices also continues to introduce new audio products. Sound Devices’ response to the high-quality, high-track needs of today’s productions is two-fold. First, the new 970, the company’s first-ever dedicated audio-only rack-mounted product can accommodate an impressive 64 channels of Dante and MADI for the most complex live and production environments. Second, Sound Devices also recognizes that even the smallest, over-the-shoulder production environment needs multiple tracks. The 633 (a six input mixer with an integrated 10 rack recorder) is Sound Devices’ next “must-have” production tool for the field engineer on-the-go, as it’s equipped with a full complement of I/O in a compact, portable device, ideal for these types of applications.

Video Devices, a brand of Sound Devices, produces digital video recorders and related products that address a range of multiple-source video productions, including fast-paced, mission-critical studio applications, live sports, live events and mobile production. Founded in 1998, the company designs and manufactures both brands from its Reedsburg, Wisconsin headquarters with additional offices in Madison, WI and Highland Park, IL.
