Certified Teleports Deliver Higher Quality Operations.  The World Teleport Association (WTA) offers the world's only certification program for teleports, which provides the first objective, transparent and internationally accepted method for confirming the quality of a teleport's operations.

Certification provides customers with confidence that their teleport operator can deliver the quality of service at the price-performance level they need. Broadcast content, for example, typically requires a much higher QOS than internet backbone services. For teleport operators, certification documents the value of their technology and services and offers a competitive advantage in the market.

Certification is available in four levels, from Tier 4 (top) to Tier 1 (bottom). The certification standards were developed by a volunteer committee made up of teleport, satellite and technology executives as well as representatives of end-user customers. They cover facilities, technical infrastructure and operating procedures, including business continuity, transmission chains, terrestrial connectivity, safety, physical and information security, and the management of capacity, configurations, availability and process changes.
